Disclosures

The views and opinions expressed in this blog are purely my own.

If an advertisement appears under the heading 'I Recommend', I personally use and like the product. In some cases I receive a small compensation for sales made through those links and other advertisements on this site, but I donate the money to non-profit organisations including Kiva.

I only recommend products or services that I believe, based on my expertise, are worthy of such endorsement. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider.

I have a part-time business as a professional genealogical researcher, indexer, author and speaker. If I write about my services or experiences, I always respect client confidentiality.

When I speak at genealogy events, I usually receive payment, and/or reimbursement of my expenses, which may include registration, travel, accommodation or meals. Any compensation I receive does not depend on the number of attendees, so I can promote the events with a clear conscience.

As a professional genealogist, I am entitled to a discount on some products ordered through Gould Genealogy.

I occasionally receive complimentary copies of genealogy-related magazines, especially those to which I have contributed an article.

This blog does not contain any content that in my opinion might present a conflict of interest.
